Samsung Gear VR: first affordable virtual reality glasses
The Gear VR is Samsung’s first virtual reality glasses that was developed in collaboration with the company Oculus. The accessory is optimized for use with the Note 4, Galaxy S6, and S6 Edge and is available in the color White Frost since the first quarter of 2015. It works wirelessly, so according to Samsung you “immerse yourself in the virtual world without being tied to a computer”.
The Gear VR is made of soft, flexible and lightweight materials and has, in contrast to the oculus Rift, not its own screen. The gadget uses large lenses of the Note 4 screen transformed into a three-dimensional image that surrounds the user. To use the Gear VR, you must slide the device in virtual reality glasses. There is at the front of the device a micro-USB connection for this. Next, the accessory can make use of the screen and the sensors of the smartphone create a virtual reality effect.
What you should know about the Samsung Gear VR
In contrast to the oculus Rift, the Samsung Gear VR does not have a screen but allows the use of large lenses. These transform the screen of the Note 4 into a three-dimensional image that the user surrounds.
