Microsoft has removed the Band 2 from its site and appears to have stopped offering the SDK for the wearable. This seems to be an end to Microsoft’s efforts in the field of fitness wearables.
Microsoft entered in 2014 the world of fitness trackers with the first band and continued last year with the Band 2. This year there will be no Band 3 and, moreover, the team that developed the wearable seems to be disbanded, ZDNet reports.
If you look closely, the listing can be found on the site, but the Buy-button does not work anymore. References to the listing on other pages have disappeared.
Microsoft also stopped offering the SDK, which allowed developers build their own services for wearables. In a statement to ZDNet, Microsoft confirmed that the stock is out, but it promises to continue to support the wearable.
Microsoft Band 2 is still available on Amazon
