Hey Siri, show me the living room! – The D-Link Omna 180 is the first HomeKit compatible surveillance camera available. The camera has a wide angle of 180 degrees and is exclusively available for $269.95 in the Apple Store.
The camera films in full HD and infrared LEDs ensure movement is detected even in the dark at five meters away. For storing images it supports a microSD card of up to 128 GB.
HomeKit Integration
Thanks to the HomeKit integration the camera is accessible from everywhere (an Apple TV or iPad is needed as a bridge). The camera can be controlled with the House app from iOS or Omna app from D-Link. In addition, the camera can be integrated with HomeKit scenes and control triggers.
Think of a push notification with live images when you’re not home, and motion is detected. Or something simpler: turn on the light at movement in a particular room.
Finally, the camera features two-way audio, so you can not only hear what goes on in a room but can also talk back through the internal speaker. In addition to D-Link, Withings also works on HomeKit integration of its surveillance camera, but this is not yet available.
