Swimming with a sports watch or smartphone is not convenient, but fortunately, there are wearables like the Misfit Shine. In cooperation with Speedo, there is now Speedo Shine 2, which can measure your swimming activities. The silver disc is also suitable for walking, running, and sleeping.
Speedo Shine 2
Speedo Shine 2 contains many features that already were present at the ‘normal’ Misfit Shine 2. There is, however, a new vibrator motor in it which you shows you more clearly while swimming if you have reached the desired distance. The multicolored lights also transmit messages without having to look at a screen. The lights, for example, you can see how much you’ve already swum. For the swim functions, you will, however, need to do an in-app purchase of $9.99.
There’s also a new swimming timer in this sequel to the Speedo Shine, which warns you with a vibration if your workout is done. A silent vibrating alarm alerts you to incoming calls and messages. Outside the pool, the Speedo Shine 2 is also handy because you operate music, selfie camera, and home devices with it. This works via Misfit Link, which is intended to connect the device to various services.
The Speedo Shine 2 is also technically a little improved as compared to its predecessor, with better Bluetooth range, a thinner housing, and synchronize faster. The multicolored lights are bright enough to see in direct sunlight and are adjustable to more than 16 million colors.
The Speedo Shine 2 is available from Misfit and at your favorite retailers for $120. Ordinary Misfit Shine 2 is already in stores for $99 and has the same features.
